Der New Orleans Rapper Chopper hat bei Bryan „Baby“ Williams einen Deal unterzeichnet und ist nun bei Cash Money Records gesignt. Nach einer Unterhaltung mit Baby war dies ein logischer Schritt für den ehemals bei Bad Boy unter Vertrag stehenden Rapper: „It’s just one of those situations where, you know, I wasn’t new to [Cash Money/Universal]. I have seen them, grown up around them. I knew who was who. And you know, I wasn’t comfortable with P. Diddy–even though the album went platinum, ‚cause I just couldn’t be myself. Then I talked to Baby– he said come over to Cash Money. Thing didn’t work out as first–you know how things are. But now I know it was destiny.“
Nun nimmt Chopper, der auch unter dem Namen Young City bekannt ist, ein neues Album in Angriff, das noch dieses Jahr erscheinen soll: „I made a smart move. It is a great feeling–a feeling I could only get with working with them. I’m proud to rock with Cash Money–and to get things started, I’m going to Miami on the 20th to work on the Ca$h M.O.E (Ca$h Money Over Everything) album.“
Chopper konnte erstmals bei MTV’s Making The Band 2 Aufmerksamkeit auf sich ziehen. Mit der damaligen Gruppe Da Band veröffentlichte er das Album „Too Hot For TV“.
