Ludacris, der am Dienstag sein neues Mixtape „1.21 Gigawatts„ veröffentlichte, sorgt zur Zeit mit dem darauf enthaltenen Song „Bada Boom“ für Wirbel. Auch wenn keine Namen fallen, ist es mehr als deutlich wen Luda auf dem Track adressiert.
Ludacris – Bada Boom
Big Sean und Drake machten vor einiger Zeit Ludacris dafür verantwortlich, den von Big Sean etablierten „Supa Dupa Flow“ (z.B. ?It?s going down. Basement.?) falsch benutzt und damit für alle anderen unattraktiv gemacht zu haben. So äußerte sich Drake dazu in einem Interview mit allhiphop.com folgendermaßen:
„Well, that flow has been killed by so many rappers. And, I never want to use that flow again in life. [Laughs] I wanted to take if off my album, because I was like, ?I shut ?em down. Onyx.? I hate the fact that that rhyme is still in there. To be honest, that flow, you can trace it back to like?I trace it back to Big Sean (artist on Kanye West?s G.O.O.D. Music). That?s the first guy I heard utilize that flow throughout the duration of a verse. I?ll give him that credit. I think Kanye got it from him. Me and Wayne found a dope way to do it. I don?t want to sound cocky, but the best way its been used was on ?Forever.? Those lines just all individually make so much sense. They?re all punchlines. Then a bunch of rappers started doing it and using the most terrible references in the world. I don?t want to offend somebody?I hate that rappers picked that flow up. I wish they had left that for people that know how to use it. [They go like] ?It?s a parade! MACY?S!?“
Ludacris rappte auf seiner Single „My Chick Bad“ vom letztjährigen Album „Battle of Sexes„:
„Couple girlfriends and they all a lil‘ crazy/Comin‘ down the street like a parade, Macy’s/I fill her up, balloons!/Test her and guns get drawn like cartoons/Doh, but I ain’t talk ‚bout Homer/Chick so bad the whole crew wanna bone her!“
Big Sean äußerte sich bei Angela Yees Radioshow „The Morning After“ ebenfalls negativ über Ludacris Gebrauch „seines“ Flows auf „My Chick Bad“ (zu sehen ab Minute 2:30):
Der Ludameister konnte diese Kommentare der beiden Frischlinge scheinbar nicht so einfach auf sich sitzen lassen und nahm sich die beiden auf „Bada Boom“ zur Brust.
Inzwischen scheint Big Sean den Track auch gehört zu haben, zumindest gab es heute folgenden Tweet vom G.O.O.D. Music-Artist
