Nachdem er jüngst zusammen mit DJ Drama das Mixtape „The Lost Tape“ veröffentlicht hat, wird 50 Cent nun doch tatsächlich auch im Juli sein neues Solalbum auf den Markt bringen.
Im Interview mit Hot 107.9 Philly verriet Fifty nun, dass sein inzwischen fünftes Soloalbum den Namen „5 (Murder By Numbers)“ trägt und am 3. Juli 2012 erscheinen wird. Eine gewisse Ähnlichkeit im Titel besteht zum kommenden The Game Album „F.I.V.E.“, wobei man einem 50 Cent nie sicher sein kann, ob dies Zufall ist oder eine bewußte Provokation darstellt. Das Cover Artwork wurde ebenfalls publik gemacht:
Bei „5 (Murder By Numbers)“ wird es sich anscheinend um das ominöse letzte 50 Cent Album für Interscope Records handeln, das bereits seit längerem angekündigt wird. Mit seinem Label liegt 50 Cent seit einiger Zeit im offenen Clinch und wirft den Verantwortlichen mangelnde Unterstützung vor. Vor kurzem sagte er bereits im Gespräch mit allhiphop.com:
„There’s a lot more business involved [in putting out an album] than the general public is aware of. And that part causes the actual delay with [Interscope]. I’m releasing my album July 3rd, whether is has commercial promotions or not. My birthday is July 6 and I planned for it. And I’m doing everything that I planned to do regardless if its huge airplay or not. I could care less, I’m putting the record out.“
Bis dato wurde für den Longplayer keine Promotion betrieben. Zudem soll es sich „5 (Murder By Numbers)“ um ein Digital Only Release handeln.
