„I’m so prepared for this, and I love this bro„: Während eines Live-Streams auf Twitch unterbricht T-Pain seine Musik-Session mit der Info, dass Kanye West eine Line von ihm geklaut habe: „Let me talk about a time that one of my corny lines got stolen„, beginnt der aus Tallahassee stammende Rapper. „Kanye stole one of my corny lines. I couldn’t believe it„. Kanye West soll sich für sein Album „My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy“ an einem Reim von T-Pain bedient haben.
Er erklärte den Vorgang wie folgt: „I couldn’t believe it. Kanye stole one of my corny lines after he told me it was corny. I don’t think he said it better. I don’t think anything happened that his was better than mine„. T-Pain soll zu der Zeit an dem Album „Watch the Throne“ von Kanye West und Jay-Z gearbeitet haben und zeigte Kanye West in dem Prozess eigene Songs aus einem unreleasten Mixtape: „And I was showing Kanye my shit to be like, Is this good rap? I really wanted his fucking opinion. I was dying. It’s fucking Kanye bro, you know what I’m saying? I got a chance to show Kanye my fucking raps?“
In einem Song habe er die Line gerappt: „I got beef like two burgers, you n***** win slow and I’m smarter than Steve Urkel“. Diese Line soll Kanye West nicht gefallen haben, er soll die Line als „corny“ bezeichnet haben. Auf dem Kanye West Song „Dark Fantasy„, sei dann die Line „too many Urkels on your team, that’s why your wins low“ gefallen. Diese habe der von T-Pain geähnelt. Er fragte sich beim Hören der Lyrics, ob Kanye West ihm diese Line nur schlecht geredet hätte, um sie schlussendlich selbst zu benutzen. Der Grund warum diese Aktion T-Pain erbosen ließ, war der Fakt, dass Kanye West „[is] getting lifted to the fucking ceiling like a God with a light shining down on him, and y’all […] is paying 50 US-Dollar for fucking chicken fingers to listen to a fucking unfinished album. Twice“. Auch T-Pain könne Stadien füllen, würde die Menschen aber fertige Songs hören lassen: „All of a sudden I’m hating because, ‚You can’t fill up the stadium. Yes I can, I’ve done it. But I’m also letting people hear fucking finished songs”.
Zu dem Vorfall hat sich Kanye West bislang nicht geäußert.
