Vergangene Nacht fanden in Atlanta, im US-Staat Georgia, die BET Hip-Hop Awards 2023 statt. Neben Rap-Größen wie Lil Uzi Vert und Drake, welche jeweils zwei Preise absahnten, fielen die Ergebnisse vor allem für Kendrick Lamar sehr positiv aus. Der Rapper gewann gleich vier Preise und siegte damit in allen nominierten Kategorien.
Auch für internationale Hip-Hop Künstler gab es eine Kategorie, jedoch blieben deutsche Nominierungen darin aus. Stattdessen räumte der Rapper Black Sherif aus Ghana den Preis in dieser Sparte ab.
Moderiert wurde die Show vom New Yorker Rapper Fat Joe und über den Abend hinweg performten Artists wie Sexyy Red, GloRilla, City Girls und DaBaby.
