Nachdem er sein 2007er Album „Desire“ noch über SRC Records releast hatte, wird Pharoahe Monch sein neues Album „W.A.R.“, was für We Are Renegades steht, über sein eigenes Imprint „W.A.R. Meida veröffentlichen. Der Rapper über sein eigenes Label:
„I started a record label called W.A.R. Media. We Are Renegades is the name of the label, which is also the name of the album. And we have a plethora of distribution situations and label situations but I definitely wanna stay on the ownership side and the independent side and gain a little bit more control in this point of my career.“
Der neue Longplayer soll Anfang 2010 erscheinen. An dem Werk sollen u.a. Cee-Lo, Black Milk, Styles P, Denaun Porter und Talib Kweli mitgearbeitet haben.
