Stat Quo, der vor kurzem Shady Records/ Aftermath Entertainment nach 5 Jahren ohne Release verlassen hat, wird nun neue Projekte in Angriff nehmen. Nach diversen Mixtapes wie zuletzt „The Invisible Man“ steht für den 21. April 2009 der Release eines Digital Only Albums namens „Somkin‘ Mirrors“ an. Danach wird der Rapper im Juni ein weiteres Ditigal Only Album relasen und schließlich im Herbst 2009 das seit längerem angekündigte „Statlanta“ auf den Markt bringen.
Stat Quo über „Smokin‘ Mirrors“:
„Smokin‘ Mirrors is all original beats and is a sign of things to come. It’s kind of like a preview for a movie, but not necessarily telling you what the movie is about. The significance of the title Smokin‘ Mirrors is sometimes when you stand in front of the mirror, reality gets fucked up when it’s clouded with smoke, and you lose focus of who you are in a situation. It’s basically trying to see who you are through the mirror, and that can apply to any one of us.“
