Chingy hat einen neuen Deal bei The Island Def Jam Music Group unterschrieben und wird zum Ende des Jahres sein neues Album „Hate It Love It“ veröffentlichen. Features sollen von Rick Ross, Rihanna, Ludacris, Anthony Hamilton und Lil Wayne kommen. Zudem plant der Rapper eine Kollabo mit Justin Timberlake.
Für sein ehemaliges Label Capitol Records hat Chingy nicht viel Gutes übrig:
„I don’t think Capitol really knew how to work urban artists. They’re really stuck on pop and they didn’t know how to market me. I ain’t knocking them because that’s where I started, but I think that’s why they fired a lot of people in the L.A. offices recently. I’m glad I’m off the label.“
Hinsichtlich seines Streits mit dem DTP Camp verwies Chingy auf die letztjährigen Billboard Awards, bei denen die bestehenden Differenzen beigelegt wurden:
„Our reconciliation started last year at the Billboard Awards in Las Vegas. The whole situation was a misunderstanding because no one ever really talked [it] through. And as the days went on, it got worse. So, we settled it all at the Billboard Awards and left all of the differences in that room.“
Auch auf dem kommen DTP Album „Strength In Numbers“, das am 18. September 2007 erscheinen soll, wird Chingy zu hören sein.
