Normalerweise hatte Pharrell Williams geplant sein Soloalbum „In My Mind“ nochmals komplett zu überarbeiten und neu zu veröffentlichen. Dazu hatte er Questlove von The Roots ins Studio geladen um das Album mit einer Live Instrumentalisierung zu versehen. Nun ist das Album fertiggestellt, aber Interscope will es nicht veröffentlichen. Questlove ruft daher die Fans von Skateboard P auf eine Petition zu starten um einen Release zu erzwingen: „Perhaps ya’ll can organize a petition to make Interscope release it; but I will work with P on a new project soon in the same vein.“
Der Aufruf scheint etwas unmotiviert zu sein. Und mal im Ernst: wie soll man einen so schlechten Song wie ‚Number One‘ mit Kanye West denn nur verbessern? Und was macht überhaupt Chad Hugo?
Allhiphop.com hat ein Statment von The Black Wallstreet Mitglied Black Jesus erhalten, indem er The Game’s Standpunkte erläutert. Hier die Original Nachricht:
„A yo illseed. This black Jesus from The Black WallStreet, the big homie game made an atempt to make peace with Spider Loc. Spider refused to make peace. Because “ I don’t got the authority to talk you about anything“ and that’s from Spider Loc. How would you feel if someone you know went around hit’n kids? Beef or no beef that aint gangsta like buck said lets get to tha money and game got luv 4 buck and hope they can do some buisness soon. Wie Billboard berichtet, arbeiten Bone Thugs -N- Harmony und Twista an einem gemeinsamen Album. Zu der Kollabo hat sich Layzie Bone wie folgt geäußert:
„We?re working on an album. We?ve got, like, five, six, seven songs. Twista is our dog, man. We?re unifying the Midwest. We had problems in the beginning, but that?s too long ago to bring up. We?re making music, man.“
Damit ist der in den 90er Jahren geführte Beef der beiden Parteien laut Krayzie endgültig beendet:
„It definitely was a rivalry at one time, but it was all senseless, nonsense. We were just young and not even realizing what was going on. Now we?re like, ?Man, what were we even beefing about?? We don?t even know ? like, who rapped the fastest or whatever. It really didn?t make sense. Now we?re like, instead of beefing, we can make money together.“
Auf dem neuen Longplayer der Bone Thugs „Strength & Loyalty“ ist schon mal ein Gstpart von Twista auf dem Track ‚C-Town‘ zu finden. Da kann man sich schon auf Hochgeschwindigkeitsrap ohne Grenzen freuen.
