Max B, Mitglied der Byrdgang und Lieblingsfeature von Jim Jones bleibt weiterhin hinter Gittern. Momentan steht er unter dem Verdacht im September 2006 einen Raubmord begangen zu haben. Dafür steht eine 30jährige bis lebenslängliche Haftstrafe zur Debatte. Die im Januar erhobene Kaution von 2 Millionen Dollar sollte eigentlich von Jim Jones gezahlt werden, doch dieser ziert sich plötzlich. In einem Interview mit Funkmaster Flex gab Jones an, dass er warten will bis die Kaution gesenkt wird, und dass er Max B direkt nach seiner Freilassung mit 500000$ beglücken will.
Max B’s Manager und langjähriger Freund Mike Bruno aüßerte sich enttäuscht von den Plänen des DipsetCapo und gab an ,dass Jones‘ Entscheidung „sehr hart für Max gewesen sei, denn wer sitzt schon gerne im Gefängnis ,wenn draußen jemand ist, der sagt, dass er das nötige Geld hat.“
„At the end of the day, we appreciate what Jim did for us by getting us into this rap game and introducing Max B to the public, but as far as the business side goes, it’s a lot of things that could be worked on and it ain’t nothing that can’t be corrected if people want to correct it. I feel Max is a priority. But when Max gets out, we going to attend to our business.“ so Mike Bruno zu der derzeitigen Situation.
Auch zu Max B’s derzeitgem Gemütszustand gab sein Manager einen Kommentar ab: „Max B would like the people to know that he is upset about the charges because he knows people feel he let them down. Max is feeling like he got something to prove to the people out here. First and foremost, Max had nothing to do with his crime or the accusations against him. He is just guilty by association and that’s a thing that we go through as young, black people growing up in the hood. Basically, he just wants to get out to tell his story and make history. He is going to shake the world up with his rap game.“
Trotz allem schließt Bruno eine weitere Zusammenarbeit mit Jim Jones nicht aus und verspricht den Fans viele neue Max‘ B Songs in baldiger Zukunft: „There’s tons of music. You hearing music on Jim’s album that is old – it’s new to the people but all of that is old Max B. Y’all ain’t even hear the best of the boy.“
Scheint so, als ob Jimmy entgegen seiner vollmundigen Behauptungen doch nicht so viel Kohle hat. Vieleicht kann er sich ja Knete von seinem Boss Cam’ron leihen.
