Am 15. Februar findet die 58. Verleihung des wichtigsten Musikpreises der Welt statt. Jährlich kommt die Musikwelt zusammen, um bei den Grammys ihre besten zu ehren. Seit DJ Jazzy Jeff und Will Smith 1989 als erster Rap-Act einen der begehrten Preise erhielten, hat sich Rap als feste Größe etabliert. Und zwar dermaßen, dass Kendrick Lamar mit insgesamt 11 Nominierungen diesmal mehr Grammys abräumen kann als jeder andere Künstler.
Unter anderem ist er für sein Album „To Pimp a Butterfly“ in der Kategorie Album of the Year und den Song „Alright“ in der Kategorie Song of the Year nominiert. Allerdings muss er sich gegen starke Konkurrenz durchsetzen, zum Beispiel The Weeknd und sein Album „Beauty Behind the Madness„.
