Childish Gambino meldet sich mit einem neuen Mixtape namens „STN MTN / KAUAI“ zurück. Das Mixtape wird von DJ Drama vorgestellt und erschien über seine Gangsta Grillz-Marke. Darauf rappt er über zur Zeit populäre Instrumentals, ein paar eigene Produktionen und über einen Beat von Zaytoven. Features kommen u.a. von Young Scooter, Kari Faux und ROYALTY.
Der Titel „STN MTN“ steht für Stone Mountain, die Stadt in der er aufgewachsen ist. Während „KAUAI“ für einen beliebter Urlaubsort auf Hawaii steht. Auf dieses Mixtape soll dann demnächst eine neue EP erscheinen. Gegenüber Complex erklärte Childish Gambino sein Vorhaben wie folgt:
“It’s a Gangsta Grillz mixtape that goes into an EP. The Gangsta Grillz mixtape is sort of like — it’s a dream. And the dream ends when I wake up in Kauai. And they go into each other — it’s one complete project. You can download the mixtape, and you can go buy the EP.”
